Choose the source range
Upload the clip and trim the 5–15 second range you want to edit. The selected range provides the motion, timing, structure, and soundtrack.
Edit existing footage with Balanced Edit, Preserve Motion, or Timed Edit while choosing how tightly the result should follow the source motion and timing.
Start with the footage you already have and select the range that matters. Balanced Edit prioritizes the requested appearance while using the source for motion and structure. Preserve Motion leans more heavily on the source video itself. Timed Edit keeps the original frames before a chosen moment, then begins the edited continuation.

Choose your starting point
The public use cases below explain common editing intentions. The recorded examples on this page show the three live Video Edit modes against the same source clip.
Change the environment around a subject while reviewing edge quality and movement.
02Reconsider light direction and atmosphere without assuming the subject will stay identical.
03Explore a new visual treatment while preserving the intended action.
04Investigate a local change across time, with attention to tracking and continuity.
05Explore the existing identity-editing workflow with a face reference and source footage.
06Build on a clip through the dedicated Video Extender workflow.
07Make the requested visual change explicit before choosing a video workflow.
Recorded results
Each comparison below uses the same cyclist source and the same edit direction. Only the Video Edit mode changes.
A considered workflow
The source range is shared across all three modes. The mode changes how DeepAny balances the requested appearance against the original motion and timing.
Upload the clip and trim the 5–15 second range you want to edit. The selected range provides the motion, timing, structure, and soundtrack.
Motion on the Source card is Close by default and follows the source movement. Loose favors the new look. Set Edit from to start the change later.
Add references when DeepAny should create the edited frame for you, or choose Use my own edited frame on the Source card to skip the automatic frame edit.
Compare source and result at the same moments. Check subject identity, object geometry, camera movement, timing, and whether the requested appearance remains consistent.
Make the brief do the work
This is the exact instruction used for all three GPU-verified cyclist examples so the modes can be compared fairly.
Change the cyclist orange shirt into a vivid cobalt blue cycling jacket. Preserve the rider identity, bicycle, road, coastal background, camera movement, lighting, and natural cycling motion.
Exact direction from the GPU-verified cyclist acceptance examples. The three recorded recipes use fixed seeds so each mode can be reviewed separately.
Balanced Edit creates or accepts an edited frame at the start of the selected range, then uses the source clip to guide motion and scene structure. It is the default when the visual change matters most.
The cyclist example changes the orange shirt to cobalt blue while keeping the rider, bicycle, coastal road, and side-tracking camera recognizable through the full clip.
Preserve Motion starts from the encoded source video rather than generating from an empty video latent. The approved edited appearance remains a guide while the source carries timing, pose progression, and camera movement.
Use it when the exact movement matters more than giving the model maximum freedom to redesign the shot. The GPU-verified cyclist example keeps the bicycle motion and framing especially close to the source.
Timed Edit is for changes that should not exist from the beginning of the selected range. DeepAny keeps the original frames before the chosen time, creates or accepts the edited anchor at that moment, then generates the continuation from there.
In the recorded example the cyclist remains in the original orange shirt before 2.5 seconds. The cobalt-blue continuation starts immediately after the selected change point.
The useful details
Start with Balanced Edit for most appearance changes. Choose Preserve Motion when source movement and timing should stay especially close. Choose Timed Edit when the change should begin later in the selected range.
Yes. Open the video controls on the Source card and choose Use my own edited frame. DeepAny then skips the automatic frame edit and uses your image as the approved appearance anchor. With Edit from, it is anchored at that time.
Add up to three images when the requested object, wardrobe, character, or environment should follow a visual reference. In Preserve Motion and Timed Edit they are used while DeepAny creates the edited anchor frame.
The current Timed Edit path keeps the source frames before the selected change time unchanged, then joins the generated edited continuation from that point onward.
